Swachh Bharat campaign is an ongoing exercise involving every citizen of the country. Let us not only talk about the damage being done to the environment but our rivers are virtually weeping for the condition we have reduced them to.It is a thing to be noted that as much as 37000 meli litres of sewage directly flows into our rivers daily while in our country its treatment capacity is not even half as much.
As corporates have donated nearly Rs. 100 crores for this project , they have donated many times more for other requirements under the campaign. It is hoped that the most affluent in our society like test cricketers, high income earners, cine artists who charge crores for acting in films etc should come forward and take up as self imposed targets and tasks under the scheme so that to some extent , India gets out of the stigma of being dirty. hygienically.
