KEEWA delegation calls on MD PDC, submits memorandum

SRINAGAR, May 28: A delegation of Kashmir Electric Employees & Workers Association (KEEWA) called on MD J&K Power Development Corporation (PDC) Pankaj Mangotra here and discussed various issues of Corporation employees with him.
The delegation was led by the president of the Association Nazir Ahmed Magray. It also submitted a memorandum to MD PDC and demanded settlement of the issues.
It said that executive and technical posts were sanctioned for generation divisions of J&K UT but no such posts have been provided for USHP-II Kangan. Though proposals have already been sanctioned but the same is pending which needs immediate consideration.
It said the dearth of staff in power projects has drastically affected the work culture and the functioning as well. The delegation demanded immediate rationalization of staff.
It, while highlighting the issue of insitu promotions and pending SRO-43 cases demanded that the pending cases be considered without further delay.
The delegation expressed concern over delaying tactics adopted in settlement of pension cases of PDD/PDC employees which has resulted into lot of problems to these hapless employees who attained age of superannuation since 2012. It demanded their cases be settled and employees be paid retirement benefits.
The delegation also demanded formation of rules and regulations for Corporation which came into existence in 1989 and was registered in 1995 but no rules and regulations have been made since then due to which the employees are deprived of all amenities.
The delegation also demanded securing of PDC land and buildings, regularization of daily wagers, implementation of SRO 59, release of Hardship Allowance etc.
The MD assured that the demands will be looked into.
The other members of the delegation included Shah Mohammad, Mohammad Shaban Bhat, Javed Ahmed Shah, Manzoor Ahmed Rather, M D Mir, Molvi Majeeb, Mohammed Latif Mir, Abdul Wajid.
