NEW DELHI , Mar 4: The Supreme Court today issued notice to the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) on a petition filed by the Delhi government seeking its intervention in returning the documents that the probe agency had seized and taken from the office of the Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, following a raid.
A division bench, headed by Justice Ranjan Gogoi, issued notice to the CBI, on the Kejriwal government’s plea challenging the Delhi High Court order. The HC had put on hold a lower court direction to the CBI to hand over the documents to the Delhi Government that it had seized from the chief minister’s office.
Challenging the order, the Kejriwal Government had approached the Top Court seeking to set aside the HC directive.
During the raid, the CBI had taken into its possession the documents from the office of one of the senior bureaucrats attached to Mr Kejriwal’s office in the wake of the allegations of wrongdoing on his part. (UNI)
