That, remote and far flung areas of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir do not get deprived of the benefits of education, and with a view to enhancing the school educational infrastructure, a step in the right direction has been proposed to be taken up by the Government by opening as many as 23 Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in remote areas.
It may be recalled that there are as many as 36 such KVs functional in Jammu and Kashmir and additional 23 are being arranged with the involvement of and assistance from the Government of India. That the decision be given a practical shape, the Principle Secretary School Education has directed the Deputy Commissioners to identify the land for the said purpose and find even temporary but suitable accommodation for these KVs as that is the prerequisite for according sanction to these KVs. However, close coordination between different Government agencies and proper awareness among the prospective beneficiary people would hasten the opening of these KVs and feeling of their utility in a better way.
