LOS ANGELES, Dec 28: Actress Kerry Washington’s husband Nnamdi Asomugha has announced that he is retiring from football.
In a press conference at the Oakland Raiders’ headquarters, Asomugha said he has ‘had a lot of support from my family’ following the decision, reported Ace Showbiz.
“After 11 seasons in the NFL, I will be retiring today. I’ve been blessed and fortunate to have a successful NFL career. Another journey is starting for me right now. Life happens. You start getting these feelings – it’s time. I just felt that it was the right time,” Asomugha said.
When asked about his wife’s reaction, Asomugha said his family supported his decision. “I’ve had a lot of support from my family. Everybody’s just been great about it,” he said.
Asomugha and the ‘Scandal’ actress got married in a low-key ceremony in Blaine County, Idaho in July.
In October, a report suggested that the Washington is pregnant with the couple’s first child.
The 36-year-old actress, however, has been staying mum about the baby news. (AGENCIES)
