JAMMU, Oct 20: A meeting was organized by the members of Shiv Sena Hindustan in Arnia, which was presided over by the Shiv Sena Hindustan J&K president Pt Rajesh Kesri, who expressed concern over steep rise in price of essentials after the elections and said that whenever elections are held, the public is made to compensate for it.
“Price of edible oil has increased by Rs 30 per litre and same is the case for other food products which has badly upset the domestic budget of every common man,” Kesri said, adding, the Food Supply Department and other concerned departments are just acting as mute spectators.
He appealed to the Government to properly monitor hike in prices of essentials which is being decided by shopkeepers and poor as well as middle class have to suffer a lot. “Those responsible for hike in prices should be put behind the bars,” he added.
Kesri also expressed concern over rising drug abuse in Jammu region. “While drug addiction eats into the vitals of the society, drug trafficking not only eats into the vitals of the economy of a country, but illicit money generated by drug trafficking is often used for illicit activities,” said Kesri.
