Khair wood theft case worked out, 3 held

SAMBA, Feb 24: Police in this district claimed today that they have worked out the Khair wood theft case by arresting the three thieves involved in the crime.
A police spokesperson said that a case regarding the wood theft was earlier registered at Police Station Samba through police post Gouran under section 379 of the IPC read with section 26 of the Indian Forest Act.
Accordingly, he said, several raids were conducted and today the accused were arrested with the 45 stolen logs of the Khair wood.
“The vehicle involved in the crime has also been seized,” he said.
The police spokesperson further said the raids to arrest the accused were conducted by SHO Samba Rajeshwar Singh and Chowki Officer Police Post Gouran, Sajid Jaral under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Benam Tosh.
