Khajuria announces Rs 10 lakh for Imambargah

JAMMU, May 7: Member Legislative Assembly East, Ashok Khajuria today announced Rs. 10 lakh for beautification and renovation of Imambargah Sofi Shah Peer Mitha from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Speaking on the occasion, Khajuria said that this historic shrine has played a great role in preaching Islam in Jammu and the Muslim community of Jammu province is deeply attached with this revered place. The Shrine also extends accommodation for those devotees who throng here from far off parts of the State.
Khajuria urged upon the people of the State to remain united irrespective of caste, creed or religion for overall peace, prosperity and development of the State as well as nation. He said that J&K has its own unique and composite culture where people of all religions live with peace, communal harmony and brotherhood.
He appreciated the efforts of Anjum-e-Imamian for facilitating the devotees with improved infrastructural facilities there.
In welcome address, Sajjad Poonchi highlighted the contribution of the MLA towards welfare and development of minor communities of Jammu region.
The MLA assured all possible help to Muslim brethren for strengthening infrastructure of other Muslim shrines in Jammu city.               Prof. Liaqat Jaffari conducted the proceedings of the programme while Secretary Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu Prof. Shujaut Ali Khan presented vote of thanks.
