JAMMU, Sept 30: Bhasha Vibhag (Language Department) of Punjab Government conferred Shiromani Punjabi Sahitkar Award on Khalid Hussain, internationally renowned Punjabi and Urdu short-story writer of J&K for the year 2014.
The award includes a cash award of Rupees 5.00 lakh.
Kahlid Hussain is an author of 5 short-story collections in Punjabi and 3 short-story collections in Urdu. Besides, he has written his autobiography in Punjabi and a book of articles. His short-stories are in the syllabi of various Universities of Punjab, Delhi and J&K. Scholars of various universities have done M Phil on the short-story collections of Khalid Hussain.
