Srinagar, Sept 10: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesman Khalid Jehangir has been invited by South East Asia Center, Pennsylvania USA for a fellowship titled ‘Diplomacy and Outreach’ and would be visiting United States for a month.
He would be meeting the key Christian youth leaders, State department officials, mayors, university students, media men and new life ministries, a statement issued here said. He would be travelling to Pittsberg, Washi-ngton DC, Virginia, Arizona, San Francisco and California.
Khalid would study how American Government, Church and societies are responding to a wide range of international issues like terrorism, violent extremism, radicalization, poverty, healthcare and education, the statement said. “The program seeks to promote constructive diplomacy in a changing world through innovative and inclusive approaches,” it said.
“He is the first Kashmiri who has been nominated for this prestigious fellowship in United States and who would interact with the officials of Trump administration,” the statement added.
