Khanna chairs BJP meetings, interacts with new district presidents

JAMMU, Dec 29: Member of Parliament, BJP National Vice-President & J&K Prabhari of the Party, Avinash Rai Khanna, along with BJP State president & MLA Sat Sharma (C.A) and Member of Parliament, Shamsher Singh Manhas chaired meetings of senior leaders, ministers, MLAs, MLCs, Board Vice-Chairpersons and  district presidents of the Party for Jammu Province here today.
In these separate meetings, Khanna was apprised of the Party’s organizational elections which have recently concluded. The ministers briefed him about various developmental and welfare activities being initiated by the PDP-BJP coalition Government. The district presidents presented details about the Constitution of their respective teams and the MLAs, MLCs shared their individual activities of different constituencies.
Avinash Rai Khanna also felicitated the newly elected district presidents in presence of Sat Sharma and other leaders and expressed hope that they will work wholeheartedly to come up to the expectations of the party leadership.
While speaking to district presidents, Mr Khanna asked them to immediately constitute their respective district teams keeping in view the laid down procedure under Party’s Constitution. He said that although BJP is in power now but it does not mean that our activists do not have any responsibility.
“The BJP-led Government at the Centre is launching one project after the other, one welfare scheme after the other for the development of the country and welfare of its citizens and similarly in Jammu and Kashmir the coalition Government is making all efforts to provide good governance with zero tolerance towards corruption and reaching the masses to mitigate their sufferings”, Khanna said and asked the district presidents to gear up and depute the party activists to every nook and corner to make the people aware of the centrally sponsored welfare schemes and the measures being undertaken by the State Government for the benefit of the poor, women, youth, farmers, border people and the down-trodden.
He further asked them to mobilize the public to attend Party’s ‘Vikas Sushashan Sankalap Rallies’ and get factual details about the welfare schemes.
State general secretaries Dr. Narinder Singh and Munish Sharma were also present in these meetings.
District Presidents who were honoured included Omi Khajuria, Manmohan Singh, Jeevan Lal, Baldev Singh Baloria, Ayodhya Gupta, Capt (retd) Bansi Lal, Ramesh Sharma, Brijeshwar Singh, Kuldeep Dubey, Dinesh Sharma, Jungveer Singh and Rakesh Gupta.
