BJP leader seeks attention of Governor, Union Minister

JAMMU, Aug 21: BJP national vice-president & Prabhari J&K, Avinash Rai Khanna has appealed the Jammu & Kashmir Governor, Satya Pal Malik and Union Tourism Minister, Prahlad Singh Patel for development of historical and religious places located in Sudhmahadev and Mantalai areas of Chenani Assembly Constituency falling in Udhampur district.
In separate letters addressed to the Governor and the Union Minister, Avinash Rai Khanna, mentioned that during his recent visit to Sudhmahadev and Mantalai, he received representations from Shrimad Jagatguru Shankaracharya Anant Ji, Shri Swami Amritanand Dev Tirath Ji and local committee, Chenani, wherein they raised various issues and sought the help of the Government for the development of historical and religious places like Sudhmahadev and Mantalai.
Khanna, in his letters, further mentioned that he had personally visited these historical places which are largely visited by the devotees but lack basic amenities, which should be provided so that the people coming there feel comfortable. These areas have great potential of tourism as well and hence need to be developed. The development of these areas would promote tourism and generate employment for the local people.
Khanna urged the Governor and the Union Minister for providing proper connectivity, drinking water, toilets and construction of Dharamshalla/Sarai and preservation of the centuries old temples. He expressed hope that the necessary steps in this regard would be taken to ensure that needful is done.
