Khanna seeks release of Indian drivers, writes to MEA

NEW DELHI, Feb 10: Member Parliament & J&K Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna has written a letter to Minister for External Affairs, Salman Khursheed expressing his grave concern over the continued detention of the Indian drivers by Pakistan authorities.
In his letter Mr Khanna said that in spite of the fact that these drivers are innocent and Pakistan has taken this action simply in retaliation to the arrest of a Pakistani driver who was apprehended carrying over hundred kgs of narcoted drugs under the cover of the goods and other items permitted for Indo-Pak border trade.
Mr Khanna has requested the Foreign Minister to immediately intervene and secure early release of the Indian drivers under Pakistan custody.
He has also urged him to request the Pakistan Government to punish the guilty officers responsible for arrest of innocent Indian drivers.
