Khanna seeks vote for BJP candidates

HANDWARA, Mar 10: BJP MP and Party incharge J&K Avinash Roy Khanna today asked the people of Kashmir to vote in favour of his party candidates for the peace and prosperity in the State.
Addressing a election meeting here today in support of party candidate, for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat, G M Mir, he said that BJP is committed to welfare of the people of the trouble torn border State which has suffered a lot during the 24 year long turmoil.
He accused the Congress and NC of the miseries of the people of the State and present mess. He alleged that the Centre has given liberal funds to the State but the same are not utilized properly with the result the people continue to live in backwardness and poverty.
Expressing concern over the plight of the youth, he said BJP after return to power will launch employment generation schemes so that the youth develops a confidence in the Government.
Addressing the meeting party general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul said people of Kashmir don’t consider BJP an untouchable now as they are fed up with the traditional parities in the State who exploited them for years together and created a division on the name of regions.
Party vice president Ramesh Arora, senior leader Charnjit Singh Khalsa, party candidates, G M Mir and Mushtaq Ahmed Noorabadi were among other BJP leaders who addressed the meeting.
