Khanna visits shelling affected areas of Nowshera

RAJOURI, May 19: BJP National vice-president and J&K Prabhari, Avinash Rai Khanna, along with Party’s State vice-president Yudhvir Sethi, local MLA, Ravinder Raina and Vice-Chairman of SC, ST, OBC Development Corporation, Balbir Ram Rattan, visited the border areas of  Nowshera affected by the shelling from across the border and took stock of the facilities being provided to the migrated border people.
The senior BJP leaders met the families putting up in Government schools and other temporary shelters, interacted with them and enquired about the facilities being provided there by the administration.
While talking to the people living in temporary shelters at various places in Nowshera, Avinash Rai Khanna asked them about the provision of meals, electricity, drinking water, medical facilities, etc. He was told by the people that the studies of their children have been affected badly, their cattle either got killed or severely injured and crops too are at the verge of damage. They demanded free ration for six months, cemented bunkers and allotment of plots at safer places.
Meanwhile, Khanna handed over to local MLA and Mahila Morcha activists 2 quintals of dry milk incurred from Red Cross and sanitary items provided by Yudhvir Sethi to be distributed to the migrated families living in temporary shelters.
He assured the affected families that the Government at the Centre will be apprised of their problems and every effort will be made to ensure that whatever is required, reaches each family.
