NEW DELHI, Feb 9: Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and senior BJP leader, Ghulam Ali Khatana on Friday enlightened the students from ‘MIT School of Government, Pune’ on ‘Importance of joining politics at a younger age’.
A group of these students from the 19th batch of “Master’s Programme in Political Leadership and Government” was on a visit to Parliament on ‘National Study Tour’.
Addressing these students Khatana said that youth of today will run the nation tomorrow and youth is the proper period of life to join politics.
Giving reference of his own college days wherein he also remained a prominent student leader, Khatana said that leadership builds discipline in students at a very young age.
“As over 55 per cent of Indian population is that of young people, our country is also known as the nation of youth and these young people should also think of politics as an option apart from medical, engineering, civil services and other professions,” he maintained adding that honest, disciplined and learned youth have better chances to serve the nation in a better way.”
The BJP MP said that in the last about 10 years India has seen remarkable progress in every field under the leadership of PM Modi who has launched many schemes for the welfare of the youth.
“Start-up, loan facilities to start own ventures etc are all designed to make the youth of the country employed and empowered,” Khatana said.
He also said that the PM is very keen in guiding the youth of the country like a great leader wherein the radio programmes like ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ etc are historic steps.
The Rajya Sabha member asked the students to work hard in their subjects and excel in studies.
“The youth should join politics and become visionary and foresighted leaders like PM Modi,” he said.
The MP said that the youth should also take an active part in sports and should maintain a distance from addiction of intoxicants which is spoiling the country.
“Image of our country today is shining across the world and it is the result of hard work of PM Modi. We have stepped over the moon and many other such programmes are under-process,” the senior BJP leader continued.
