NEW DELHI, May 11: Gulam Ali Khatana, MP Rajya Sabha participated in a panel discussion organised by the Centre for Study of Democracy and Culture here today.
The topic of panel discussion was on ‘BJP’s Manifesto and Lok Sabha Election 2024’ in which guest speaker was Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union MoS for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology, while Prof. Tariq Mansoor, Vice President BJP, MLC (Nominated UP) and former VC AMU were the special guests.
The event was hosted by Prof. Rakesh Sinha, MP Rajya Sabha, Honorary Director CSDC. The meeting discussed development initiatives with regard to roads and highways etc.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP leader and MP Rajya Sabha, Gulam Ali Khatana said the Government has undertaken significant modernization and expansion efforts in the railway sector.
“Initiatives like the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) projects aim to decongest existing railway networks and improve freight movement efficiency and it has worked miracles while there’s a focus on enhancing passenger amenities, safety measures and introducing high-speed rail projects like the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train,” he maintained.
On airports Khatana said that BJP led Government has prioritized the development of airport infrastructure to meet growing air travel demands.
“The UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme aims to enhance regional connectivity by developing underserved and unserved airports across the country, making air travel more accessible and affordable,” he continued.
On waterways he said to promote inland water transport and reduce logistics costs, the Government has been developing national waterways through projects like the Jal Marg Vikas Project.
“These efforts aim to harness India’s extensive network of rivers for cargo transportation, easing pressure on road and rail networks and promoting environmentally sustainable transport options,” Khatana further said adding, “Overall, the BJP’s infrastructure development agenda encompasses a wide range of sectors with the aim of improving connectivity, promoting economic growth and enhancing the overall quality of life for citizens.”
Prof. Rakesh Sinha, MP Rajya Sabha, Honorary Director CSDC talked on Smart Cities and said that the Smart Cities Mission focuses on developing 100 smart cities across India with state-of-the-art infrastructure and sustainable urban planning.
These cities aim to provide better quality of life, enhanced mobility and efficient urban services through the integration of technology and innovation.
