Khatana projects demands of nomads

JAMMU, May 21: A meeting of Gujjar Bakarwal Desh Tehreek-e-Insaaf Jammu was held under the leadership of its State President Choudhary Nazakat Khatana here regarding the problems being faced by the nomads, who are on their way along hilly areas of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Talking to media persons, Khatana said that the nomads are being harassed everywhere along the national highway during ongoing summer season. He said that the nomads are in the terrains of the State along with their cattle and bovine animals are being harassed by police and other agencies without any reason. In this hot Ramzan, they require medicines, water facility, veterinary facility, mobile schools and rents etc which are their basic needs, he added.
He urged Governor and other authorities to pay attention towards the genuine demands and basic necessities of these nomads. He also urged the Governor to provide electricity, water supply and ration to the nomads living in different areas of Jammu province.
