JAMMU, Apr 9: Er Ghulam Ali Khatana, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) has appealed to the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir to take cognizance of the long-pending issues of CIC Operators working under the Rural Development Department (RDD) in J&K.
In a letter to the Chief Secretary, Khatana has urged the administration to prioritize resolving genuine concerns of CIC Operators regarding regularization of their services.
As per the CIC Operators, they were recruited in 2004 through a proper recruitment process by District Level Committees, headed by Deputy Commissioner concerned. These CIC Operators are highly qualified and having degrees like MCA, MSc and BE/B Tech etc, serving in the department from the last 20 years.
In 2014, the J&K Cabinet had decided to regularize the services of these CIC Operators and in 2016, the rural Development & Panchayti Raj Department had taken a substantial step by creating 172 positions of Data Entry Operators in pursuance to the Cabinet decision. In 2016 and 2017, the Finance Department approved the regularization of CIC Operators under J&K Civil services (Special Provisions) Act, 2010 as Data Entry Operators. After the Re-organization of J&K, the regularization issue of CIC Operators was submitted to the Establishment -Cum-Selection Committee of J&K.
