JAMMU, Apr 1: Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) which met here today under the chairmanship of M L Thusoo advocate while discussing the burning issues of displaced people expressed grave concern over denial of ration to migrants for last two months.
The meeting said that both Relief holders and those migrants falling under APL category have been deprived of ration which is a cause of concern for the entire community.
Mr Thusoo said this is for the first time since their displacement from Valley in 1989-90 that the migrants have been deprived of relief.  He said that it is not known how the ration has been stopped to migrants when this is debited to security related expenditures of the State and implementation of National Food Security Act (NFSA) has nothing to do with it.
Mr Thusoo said that the ration quota under APL category has been kept withheld for Pandits for a long time and even the sugar is not been provided to them by CAPD Department.
Terming it the double standard of the Government he demanded that immediate steps be taken to restore the ration to the community as denial of ration is a grave human rights violation.
He also demanded permanent settlement of the displaced Pandits at a concentrated place in Valley and also compensating the community for the losses suffered by during turmoil.
P L Koul Budgami, K L Ganjo, Jaikrishan Raina Muktoom, M L Daftri, A K Kaul, S N Raina, A K Bhat and G L Kaul attended the meeting.
