JAMMU, Dec 4: Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) met here today under the chairmanship of M L Thusoo to discuss the various issues of the displaced Pandits from Valley.
As per a release, the meeting viewed with serious concern the continuous process of extinction of Kashmiri Hindu community and the criminal silence of the State Government on the execution of PM’s employment package for the years now despite the fact that the Central Government in principle agreed to bear the financial implication of 3000 employees to be appointed under the State sponsorship.
Addressing the meeting Mr Thusoo said the callous attitude of the State Government towards the Shrines and Temples Bill and allow the free encroachment of Hindu shrines in Valley is a testimony to the fact that Government has no concern for preservation of these cultural monuments.
P L Koul Badgami convener of the conference urged the community to awake from the deep slumber and fight for its rights with full might.
He said the community will return to Valley on its own terms and conditions and this will be only possible when it struggles unitedly in a continuous and comprehensive process.
He said the changed scenario in Valley does not allow the community to settle down in the ancestral places and in the first step the Government should construct a satellite township for the same.
K L Ganjoo while highlighting the demands demanded increase in relief in view of sky rocketing prices.
