SRINAGAR June 27: Jammu and Kashmir Khidmat Centre Association (JKKCA) protested here today, demanding a permanent settlement policy in favour of the professionals.
Scores of Khidmat Centre owners gathered at Partap Park, Press Enclave here, raising slogans in support of their demands. They said that the Permanent Settlement is their right and that the J&K Bank is obligated to develop it because they have worked with the bank for ten years.
Aijaz Hussian, DDC member Khonmoh, and members of the Hajj Committee of India also joined the protests and urged the government to frame the job policy for them.
“I am with these people. There have been several assurances from Jammu and Kashmir Bank and the administration regarding their job policy, but nothing has happened so far. I appeal to the LG Manoj Sinha, to include these Khidmat Centre operators in the new employment policy that the administration plans to release soon,” he said, adding that the administration should rectify the mistakes made by the previous government.
According to the protestors, the government of Jammu and Kashmir recently framed a job policy for all the youth who were working on various central government schemes. However, Khidmat Centres that were established across Jammu and Kashmir under the assigned role of Service Centre Agency as envisaged in the National e-Government Programme are being ignored.
