JAMMU, Oct 19: Continuing with the drive to ensure availability of wholesome sweets and dry fruits on the eve of Deewali, a team of the Food Safety Officers conducted inspection of food business operators and lifted samples of Khoya and other items for testing of the same in lab.
The team of Food Safety officers, namely Daleep Singh, Jai Inder Singh, Hans Raj and Ajay Khajuria, under the supervision of Sanjeev Kumar, Asstt. Controller Food, (MLJ), Drugs & Food Control Organization, J&K, Jammu, carried out inspections of food business operators dealing with Khoya and sweet shops in the area of Raghunath Bazar, Parade, Kachi Chowni and Toph Sherkhania.
Eight samples of various Food articles, such as Khoya , Kalakhand, Rasgulla , Milk Cake , Ladoo and dry fruits (Kaju ) were lifted from the vendors namely M/S Daulat Ram & Sons, Raghunath Bazar, Jammu; M/S V K Gupta, Raghunath Bazar, Jammu; , M/S Shiv Khoya Bhander, Raghunath Pura Jammu ; M/S Krossway Sweet Shop, Kachi Chowni; M/S Nek Ram, Sabzi Mandi, Parade, Jammu and M/S Walmart Best Price Toph Sherkhania and send to the Food Testing laboratory for analysis.
The sale of 67 kg Khoya and 117 Kg Kaju has been stopped till satisfactory report from the Food Analyst is received. Also 6kg of decomposed khoya was destroyed on spot .
