Khurshid Ahmed along with several Cong workers quit party, join DAP

RAJOURI, Oct 15: Chief spokesperson of Congress Khursheed Ahmed Mir today announced that he left Congress and joined Democratic Azad Party (DAP) of Ghulam Nabi Azad along with other Congress workers.
The announcement was made by Khursheed Ahmed Mir while addressing a press conference, here today. Other Congress workers and his supporters who joined DAP include Sushil Sharma, Captain Joginder Singh (president, Minority Cell), Rajinder Singh (president, Seva Dal), Subhash Vaid (secretary, District Congress), Haji Gafoor Bhat (retired Tehsildar), Haji Abdul Rashid Bhat (president, Muslim Forum) and Rashid Shaheen (retired Tehsildar).
Senior Citizens who joined DAP include Haji Mushtaq Ahmed Dar, Captain Shafqat Jaral, Aslam Mirza, Nazir Charak, Deepika Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, Azad Malik, Pali Gupta, Imtiaz Manhas, Manzoor Mirza, Vijay Gupta, Shadi Mir, Farooq Lone, Deepak Sayal, Shahzad Mir, Pappu Gupta, Abdul Hamid, Abdul Satar, Ravi Kanth, Dharampal Sharma, Ashwani Sharma, Bilal Khan, Aamir Khan, Showkat Chowdhary, Nadeem Qureshi and Vishal Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, Khurshid Ahmed Mir said Ghulam Nabi Azad had done tremendous work in J&K as CM and as Union Cabinet minister. “People have high hopes with him as they believe that only he can fulfill the dreams and expectations of people,” he added.
Khurshid said that only Azad can bring J&K out of present situation. “Azad is such a leader who can bring both regions of Jammu and Kashmir at one platform and lead. In the present scenario, the unemployment rate is very high in J&K and there is no such leader who can bring J&K out of present situation except Azad,” he asserted.
