SRINAGAR, Aug 25: Minister of State for Home, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo today strongly criticized the irresponsible statements being made by a particular political party leadership regarding the cross border shelling – affected families. He said the leadership of this party who are presently on political trip to Jammu are exploiting human sufferings for party politics.
The State Home Minister said that he has visited the affected areas extensively, interacted with the people, ascertained their difficulties and oversaw the arrangements and help being provided to them by the State Government at this critical juncture.
Kichloo said that Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah is continuously monitoring the situation and receiving minute to minute appraisal about the situation and the alertness of State Administration to be at the beck and the call of the people at this hour of need. He said since the day the incident of firing across border took place he is on the job of monitoring the situation and keeping the Chief Minister abreast with the factual position and the status of arrangements made for affected families.
He said that instead of taking required measures at the Central Government level, where the particular political party is in power, its leaders are making false allegations against the State Administration without having even an iota of the knowledge and experience of the situation in these areas as they never went there to take appraisal of the situation.
“Instead of making political statements for political purpose, they should talk to the Centre Government to take immediate necessary measures for addressing this burning issue”, he advised the leadership of this particular political party and said that the State Government will spare no efforts to help the affected people and it has already begin a comprehensive programme in this regard.
He said that it does not befit the leaders of BJP to make political mileage out of human sufferings. “They need to strengthen the efforts of the State Government to reach out the people in the affected areas and provide them all possible help. They should also ask the Central Government to come forward and extend full support to the people who have been severely affected by the shelling”, he maintained.
