Kichloo seeks compensation for 7 Padder accident victims

KISHTWAR,  Oct 22: Former MoS  Home and Member Legislative Council from Kishtwar, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today demanded compensation for the seven Padder accident victims who died in a tragic road accident at Gulabgarh on September 13, 2015 at par with the victims of Udhampur accident that took place on Tuesday,  resulting into the death of 14 persons.
In a press statement issued today, Mr  Kichloo said that the kith and kin of seven Padder accident victims who belong to very poor and downtrodden families have so far received only Rs 5000 as compensation out of Red Cross funds and demanded that the family members of all the deceased persons of Padder accident deserve One lakh  compensation as  given by the Udhampur administration on the directions of Government to the next kin of dead and injured in accident and instantly distributed Rs 14 lakh to  next of kin  of dead and Rs 90,000 to the injured.
He urged upon Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to issue similar directions to District Administration  Kishtwar to pay the compensation of rupees one lakh  to Padder accident victims as soon as early possible.
It is pertinent to mention that the accident took place some 4 Km ahead of Gulabgarh when the ill fated Tata Sumo bearing No  JK-17/3829 was on its way from Gulabgarh to Sohal. The deceased persons were identified as Nitish Kumar, son of Naib Singh, resident of  Matti; SPO Rajinder Singh, son of Suram Singh, resident of Matti Ligri; Sonam Notap, son of Somnath Bodh, resident of  Kabban; Mohinder Kumar, son of Ram Prasad Megh, resident  of  Matti; Manak, son of  Lekh Raj  resident of  Kundal; Yograj, son of Premnath , resident of  Matti and one son of  Payare Lal of  Dhunadhi.
