SAMBA, June 22: Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today visited SIDCO Industrial Growth Centre Samba to take on spot review of the status of Phase- III.
He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Samba, R K Varma, Director Industries Jammu, Bhawani Rakwal, SSP Samba Anil Mangotra, MD SICOP R.L. Ticku, MD JK Cements Rakesh Sharma, MD SIDCO J.S. Dua, other senior officers of these organizations and officers of district administration.
MD SIDCO apprised the Minister that the Phase III comprises of 2760 kanals of land, out of which 796 kanals will be handed over to SIDCO soon and the same will be taken up immediately for development.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister directed for immediate development of land for industrialization and begin the process of allotment to the potential entrepreneurs by ending August. He emphasised the need for availability of developed infrastructure to speed up the setting up of industries for self employment as well as creation of employment for the economic growth of the area.
The Minister also visited the up-coming 300 TPD Cement Grinding-cum-packing plant of Jammu & Kashmir Cements Limited at IGC Phase IInd Samba being set up at an estimated cost of Rs. 27 crore. While inspecting various sections of up-coming plant, the Minister was apprised by Managing Director J&K Cements Ltd. R.K. Sharma about the present status of plant.
The Minister was impressed with the pace of work presently in progress and directed MD JKCL to put all efforts in getting the plant ready for commissioning within shortest possible time.
Mr. Kichloo said that with the commissioning of this cement plant, the youth from the areas as well as other parts of the State will get job opportunity.
