SRINAGAR, Mar 23: Police solved a kidnapping case and arrested the accused person involved in the crime in Handwara area of Kupwara district today.
A Police spokesman said that Police Station Vilgam received a written complaint from one (name withheld) that his daughter aged about 22 yrs was kidnapped by one Irfan Najar, a resident of Daril Payeen Handwara.
He said police registered a case in this regard and investigation was set into motion. On the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Handwara, Ghulam Jeelani Wani, a police party of Police Station Vilgam headed by SHO Vilgam Inspector Mohd Sulamaan raided various suspected locations and also established various check points and massive searches were launched in and outside the district.
“After strenuous efforts of police, both the accused and victim were traced out from Magam area of Handwara. Accused was arrested and a case with FIR No 11/2018 under section 363 RPC was registered in Police Station Vilgam. Further investigation is in progress,” he said.
