RAJOURI, Sept 27: Thana Mandi police today recovered a girl who had been kidnapped by a Tavera driver hailing from Kashmir in May this year.
A senior police official said that on the complaint of the parents of the girl, the police was investigating into the case. The girl had been kidnapped on May 11, 2013 from Thana Mandi area by one Bilal Ahmed, son of Abdul Rehman of Hanjipura, Kulgam. On the basis of some clue, a police party led by SHO Zaheer Shaheen under the supervision of SDPO, Thana Mandi conducted raid and recovered the girl from Kulgam area today. The youth was also arrested.The girl after medical examination was handed over to the family.
Meanwhile, Thana Mandi police also arrested a truck driver Shafiq Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid, who was evading arrest after killing two persons in an accident at Pattan in Kashmir last year. He was arrested from Thana Mandi area on the basis of a clue provided by Pattan police.
