JAMMU, Sept 30: Police in Jammu’s Gujjar Nagar area claimed today they have arrested one individual for allegedly kidnapping a girl.
A police official said that on receiving a complaint about a missing girl, a case FIR number 53/2024 under sections 87, 49 of the BNS was registered at Police Station Peer Mitha and investigation taken up promptly.
Post registration of FIR, he said, a special team was constituted by SP City North to trace out the kidnapped girl and arrest the accused.
The team led by SHO Peer Mitha and assisted by incharge Police Post Gujjar Nagar under the close supervision of SDPO City North Jammu arrested the accused, identified as Vishal Bhatti of Dharmkote, Tehsil Billawar, District Kathua, and recovered the kidnapped girl, said the police official.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he said.
