Kidnapped Kulgam girl traced, accused at-large

Srinagar, June 12: Police in Kulgam today handed over a girl from Kulgam to her family.
In this regard, Police Station Manzgam had received a written complaint from an individual stating that his daughter was been kidnapped by one person namely Mudasir Ahmad Ganie son of Bashir Ahmad Ganie resident of Prayer Pulwama.
Accordingly, police said, a case FIR No. 50/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Manzgam and investigation was initiated.
During the investigation, police said, a team headed by SHO PS Manzgam under the supervision of SDPO DH Pora was constituted.
“By utilizing all available means and with strenuous efforts, specific information was generated due to which the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl. However, the accused person involved in the commission of crime escaped from the spot and efforts are on to effect his arrest,” police said.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs, while the investigation into the matter is in the progress.
