Srinagar, July 4: Police in Kulgam today said to have recovered a kidnapped minor girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of the crime.
A statement issued here said that the Police Station Behibagh on June 30, 2021, received a written complaint from one person stating therein that his minor daughter (name withheld) was kidnapped.
“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 35/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Behibagh and investigation was initiated,” police said.
During the investigation, police said, a team headed by SHO Police Station Behibagh under the supervision of DySP PC Hatipora Arif Hussain-JKPS was constituted to trace and rescue the kidnapped girl. Acting on specific leads and by utilizing all available means, the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl and arrest the accused person involved in the commission of the crime.
“After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the matter is in progress,” police said, adding that swift action by Police against anti-social elements has been appreciated by the locals.
