RAMBAN, May 11: Banihal Police rescued a kidnapped minor girl within 24 hours and arrested the abductor.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a man with Police Station Banihal stating that his minor daughter had gone to school and did not returned back and alleged that she has been kidnapped by a person namely Ajaz Ahmed Ganai, son of Abdul Khaliq Ganai of Haarmal District Kupwara.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 102/2022 under Section 363 IPC was registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Banihal headed by ASI Nazir Ahmed generated specific inputs of location of kidnapped girl.
The police team reached the said location in Kupwara and recovered the kidnapped girl vis arrested the abductor.
After completing all legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
The kidnapped was recovered under the supervision of SHO Banihal Inspector Muneer Ahmed, SDPO Banihal Nisar Khawaja and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
