Kidnapped minor girl rescued, abductor arrested from Budgam

JAMMU, Aug 28: Pouni Chak Police rescued a kidnapped minor girl and arrested the abductor from district Budgam of Kashmir.
As per police sources, on July 18 this year, a complaint was lodged by a lady with Police Post Pouni Chak stating that her 16-year-old daughter has been kidnapped by a youth identified as Mohammad Mustafa, son of Mohammad Yaqoob, a resident of Chanderkote District Ramban, at present residing in Tirlokpur area of District Jammu.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 197/2021 under Sections 363 and 376 IPC and 4 Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, a special team led by Incharge Police Post Pouni Chak SI Dilawar Kumar was constituted under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul, SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma and SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli, which raided various suspected places inside and outside Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir where chances of recovery of kidnapped minor were possible.
After hectic efforts, the police team with the assistance of technical and ground level intelligence recovered the kidnapped minor girl from Berwah area of District Budgam and also arrested the accused.
After fulfilling all medical and legal formalities, the minor girl has been shifted to CWC Jammu.
Further investigation into the case is in progress.
It is pertinent to mention here that SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli took personal interest in ensuring arrest of accused person and recovery of kidnapped girl.
