Kidnapped minor girl traced from Punjab, reunited with family

JAMMU, Mar 29: Police claimed today that they have traced a kidnapped minor girl and reunited her with family members here.
A police spokesperson said that on March 24, 2023, a complaint was lodged by one person at Police Post Canal stating therein that his 14-year-old daughter went missing from her home at Krishna Nagar, Jammu.
“Accordingly, a case FIR number 42/2023 under section 363 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started,” he said
On this, he further said that special police team of Police Post Canal Road led by DySP Headquarters, Dr Sunniya Wani assisted by SHO Police Station Nowabad Inspector Surinder Raina and Incharge Police Post Canal PSI Mohammad Younis Khandey generated information from sources and traced the kidnapped minor girl from Kharar, Punjab.
“The accused, Azad Ali of Tajpur, District Lakhimpur Kheri, has been arrested and the minor girl handed over to her family members,” he added.
