JAMMU, Feb 9: Sainik Colony Police rescued a kidnapped minor girl and arrested the abductor.
As per police sources, on February 2 this year, a complaint was lodged by a man with Police Post Sainik Colony stating that his 17-year-old daughter has been kidnapped from her home at Chowadhi.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 18/2022 under Section 363 IPC was registered in Police Station Channi Himmat and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, a team of Police Post Sainik Colony led by PSI Younis Khanday was constituted under the supervision of SHO Channi Himmat Inspector Deepak Katoch and SDPO City East Jammu Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari.
The team raided various locations and finally recovered the kidnapped minor girl and arrested the accused person namely Yog Raj, son of Baldev Raj of Gurah Kalyal Tehsil Ramkot District Kathua.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the minor girl has been handed over to her legal heirs.
Further investigation into the case is in progress.
The recovery and arrest has been made under the supervision of SP City South Jammu Deepak Digra and SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli.
