Kidnapper escapes from Police Stn, 4 cops suspended

JAMMU, June 16: Four cops have been suspended and a departmental enquiry ordered against them as a kidnapper escaped from police custody.
As per police sources, a man identified as Mukul, son of Bhushan, a resident of Reshamgarh Colony District Jammu was arrested on June 14 this year as he had kidnapped a minor girl.
The girl was recovered from Punjab and handed over to family members after completing formalities.
A case under FIR Number 89/2021 under Section 363 IPC was registered against the kidnapper at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation was started.
As police team was about to lodge him back into the lock up, the accused managed to escape by jumping compound wall of Police Station Bakshi Nagar.
Hunt has been launched to re-arrest the kidnapper. However, a fresh case under relevant Sections has been registered against the accused at Police Station Bakshi Nagar.
However, four cops, the names of whom were recommended by SDPO West Rahul Nagar, have been suspended.
Meanwhile, a departmental enquiry has also been ordered against the suspended cops.
