DODA, June 16: An old man was brutally murdered today by a person of his own village and a lady was critically injured while rescuing the elder in village Chouanry, Gandoh Bhalesa Tehsil here.
The deceased was identified as Ram Krishan, 70, son of Nand Lal resident of village Dhosa Gandoh and the injured lady was identified as Anju Devi, wife of Chander Parkash, resident of village Chouanry.
The murderer, identified as Bharov Singh, son of Pawan Kumar, resident of Chouanry Gandoh killed Ram Krishan with an axe and left Anju Devi critically injured and she was referred to GMC Doda for treatment.
After receipt of the information regarding the murder, Adil Hussain, SDPO Gandoh and Inspector Vikram Singh, SHO Gandoh along with cops rushed to the spot and arrested the murderer from high ridges of forest area but he got himself injured with the weapon of offence (axe) while being arrested.
An FIR with No. 55/2023 Under Section 302, 307 and 342 has been registered at Police Station Gandoh in this regard and investigation started.
Prima facie some old family dispute seems the reason behind the incident.
Initially there was some heated argument on the dispute of stones extraction which later on led to the incident of murderous attack.
However investigation of the case is going on and the evidences are being gathered by Police.
