Killing of 2 VDGs in Kishtwar widely condemned

SRINAGAR/JAMMU, Nov 8: There has been wide spread condemnation of the killing of two Village Defence Guards (VDGs) by terrorists in Kontwara area of Kishtwar district yesterday.
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and the president of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, have strongly condemned the brutal killing of two village defense guards, Nazir Ahmad and Kuldeep Kumar in Kishtwar.

The duo prayed for peace to departed souls and said that such barbaric acts of violence are a major obstacle to achieving lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir. During this difficult time, their thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased.
In addition, party general secretary, Ali Muhammad Sagar, additional general secretary, Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, advisor to CM, Nasir Sogami, treasurer Shammi Oberoi, chief spokesperson, Tanvir Sadiq, and senior leaders Sajad Kichloo and Khalid Najeeb Suharwardhy have also condemned the killings in the strongest possible terms.
Expressing serious concern over the continued rise in terror incidents, JKPCC has hit out at the Centre Government for failure to tackle militancy and check rise in terror activities under the UT, and blamed BJP for trying to divert attention of the people from the real challenge of terrorism besides record unemployment and other burning issues besides restoration of full Statehood and powers to the elected Government to deal with priority issues of people.
Strongly condemning the Kishtwar incident and expressing shock over the killing of two VDGs Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar, last evening senior Congress leader and JKPCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma questioned BJP for the failure of its Government to contain terrorism which is taking toll of the lives of people on daily basis and blamed it of trying to divert attention of the people from real issues.
He said that instead of paying tribute to the two martyrs of Kishtwar and condemning the incidents in the house to send a strong message against terrorism, today also the BJP indulged in diversionary tactics in the House, which shows that BJP has the least concern for the lives of the people.
CPI(M) leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami has condemned the killing of Village Defence Guard (VDG) members in Kishtwar yesterday.
Terming the killing as “barbaric”, Tarigami said such acts must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. Such acts are bound to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the region.
While expressing solidarity with the bereaved ones, he demanded adequate compensation to the affected families.
J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu has strongly condemned the killing of two VDGs by terrorists in Kishtwar and expressed its grief and shock over the barbaric killing. The Bar said that these brave individuals who were abducted and mercilessly martyred by terrorists , serve as a stark reminder of the daily dangers faced by those dedicated to protecting the nation and people. The Association expressed its heartfelt condolences to bereaved families and showed their solidarity with them at this hour of grief and shock.
The brutal killings of innocent civilians Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar in Jammu and Kashmir have left the region in deep shock and distress. Today, Movement Kalki organized a strong protest at Jammu Bus Stand, demanding strict action from the Central and newly elected NC Government to combat terrorism effectively.
Movement Kalki stated that such incidents exposed the false claims of peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir by the Government and administration. Protesters expressed that these tragic murders have left families shattered, with sisters losing their brothers, mothers their sons, children their fathers, and wives their husbands, causing widespread anger and grief in society.
BJP spokesperson and former Deputy Mayor of Jammu, Purnima Sharma, expressed deep outrage over the brutal attack on Village Defence Guards (VDGs) in Kishtwar, which led to the martyrdom of two dedicated guards committed to protecting their community. Extending condolences to the grieving families, she condemned the attack as a cruel act against peace and stability in the region.
Dr. Parneesh Mahajan, convenor of Department of Training, BJP, J&K has strongly condemned the terror attack in Kishtwar that claimed the lives of two brave Village Defence Guards (VDGs) and termed it a barbaric and heinous act of terrorism.
Apni Party provincial president, Jammu, and former Minister, Manjit Singh has strongly condemned the brutal killing of two Village Defence Grards (VDGs) in Kishtwar.
In a statement issued here today, Manjit Singh said that the brutal act of the terrorists has created a situation that needs to be handled carefully to maintain peace in the region.
“The innocent people are being targeted to destabilize the peaceful atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Sunil Dimple, president Mission Statehood led a strong anti Pakistan protest rally on Ambphalla New Plot Janipur High Court road and burnt the effigies, flags of various terrorist outfits against the killings of two VDG members.
Addressing the protesters Sunil Dimple strongly condemned the killing of two village defence guards by the terrorists in Kishtwar. Dimple expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
Rishi Kilam national spokesperson, Youth NCP Sharad Pawar also condemned the killing of two Village Defence Guards by terrorists in Kishtwar district. Kilam appealed the security forces to move quickly to plug any gap in the counter-terror grid and ensure that attacks like this stop completely.
Sri Ram Sena (SRS) president Rajiv Mahajan has also strongly condemned the killing of two VDGS. KPC president, Kundan Kashmiri and ASKPC Margdarshak, M L Malla have also expressed concern over killing of two VDGs. While strongly condemning the killings they demanded tightening of security in vulnerable areas to weed out terrorists.
