JAMMU, May 29: Veteran Congress leader Kirtan Singh has been appointed as J&K President of Indian Congress Army here.
As per official communiqué, Kirtan Singh has been appointed as J&K Chief of Indian Congress Army in view of Congress playing its role in strengthen the party and at present situation helping the society to fight against Coronavirus.
Singh originally belong to Village Draba, Tehsil Surankote of District Poonch, joined Congress in the year 1967 and served the party in different positions.
He remained District Vice-president in 1994 Jammu and Senior Vice-president since 2004. He was also President, Gandhi Global Family, Vice-Chairman Congress Minority Cell Jammu Province and remained associated with many social organizations.
Singh however, said that the party high command reposed faith in him and he will try his best to perform as per their expectations.
