‘Kirtan Darbar’ on martyr day of Guru Arjun Dev

JAMMU, June 1: An impressive `Kirtan Darbar’ was organised  at Gurdwara Sri Baba Chanda ji at Jain Bazar,  Jammu on the occasion of  martyr day of Guru Arjun Dev ji Maharaj here today.
The devotees (Sangat)  from many parts of Jammu city and adjoining areas reached Gurudwara for offering special prayers and attend this grand religious function. Gurudwara Management Committee arranged `Shabeel’ and Langar for the devotees and public.
Bhai Gurpreet Singh and Jatha and Bhai Sukhdev Singh recited the `Kirtan’ and highlighted the martyrdom of  Guru Arjun Dev ji for the nation. President of the committee, Sukhbir Singh  on this occasion, demanded that Government should declare Martyr day of Guru Arjun Dev ji and Guru Teg Bahadur as Gazetted holiday. He  also appealed   the Government to hold elections of Gurudwara Parbandhak Committees.
Meanwhile, martyrs day of Guru Arjun Dev Singh Ji was also observed and rich tributes paid to Guru Arjun Dev ji, in the West Assembly constituency in localities of Karan Nagar, Ambphalla, New Plot, Janipur Sarwal, Rehari and  Bakshi Nagar today,  The people of all communities arranged shabeels  and langers.
On this occasion, Sunil Dimple from Jammu West Assembly Movement paid tributes to Guru Arjun Dev ji and prayed for peace and nor normalcy in the Jammu Kashmir State. He appealed the people to follow path shown by the great Guru.
