JAMMU : A team of National Investigation Agency on Saturday arrived at Kishtwar to probe killings of BJP leader and state secretary Anil Parihar and his brother, official sources here said.
“A team comprised of SP and DySP rank officers besides subordinate staff on Saturday afternoon reached Kishtwar to probe the killings,” sources here said.
They said that the team visited to the spot and collected some evidences, adding, “they later met the senior police officers and also held meetings with them.”
BJP state secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar was killed from point blank range on November 1 with a pistol in Tapal Mohalla area by some unidentified gunmen.
“The NIA team has started the investigations and will stay in the region for couple of days,” sources added.
Meanwhile curfew was relaxed in the district, which was imposed soon after the killings.
Former minister and BJP MLA from Kishtwar Sunil Sharma had also demanded probe by the NIA. (Agencies)
