JAMMU, Nov 9: To bring awareness among farmers, Agriculture Department today organized a Kissan Jagriti Camp at Mishriwala in which leading banks falling under Bhalwal Block and a large number of farmers and general public participated.
BB Sidha and Vinod Ganjoo, Deputy Project Director ATMA, Vinod Ganjoo, Divisional Agriculture Officer, KK Gupta, SDAO Marh and officials of Mishriwala Agriculture Department presided over the function and briefed farmers about the various Government schemes.
Branch Managers of different banks also participated in the meeting. They included Arun Gupta, Senior Manager, PNB Domana, RK Razdan, Manager EDB Bank Purkhoo, VK Dutta, Manager PNB Nagbani, Kuldeep Bhat, Manager JK Grameen Bank Bathera.
Arun Gupta of PNB Domana addressed the farmers and informed them about the various schemes running in the bank for the welfare of the farmers. He also replied to the queries of farmers and briefed them about the various benefits of different schemes of the bank.
KK Gupta, SDAO Marh, briefed the farmers about correct methods of farming for getting maximum production of their produce.
Sarpanchs of different areas also addressed the gathering and stressed for more simplified procedures in all the departments which are working for the welfare of the farmers.
