KKHMS delegation calls on Relief Commissioner

JAMMU, Aug 21: A delegation of Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha (KKHMS) led by its president, Ramesh Chander Mahajan called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Ashok Kumar Pandit and submitted a memorandum highlighting the demands of displaced people to him.
The delegation demanded enhancement of cash relief, release of pending list of sanctioning of loan under PM economic package and Skill Development Scheme for setting up of small business ventures, immediate allotment of quarters to employees appointed under PM employment package with one time compensation of Rs 35 lakh to over-aged youth, release of pending 50 percent compensation and ex-gratia in favour of migrants and those who have suffered heavy losses due to disaster of floods and snow fall, agriculture crops, orchards, business establishments during last 32 years and providing of TRT accommodation to those migrant families who are living in rented accommodation and those who are living in dilapidated ORTS at Purkhoo and Nagrota.
The memorandum also demanded immediate issuance of pending Ayushman Bharat Golden cards, release of pending monthly pension in favour of old age displaced people, disabled persons and widows who had applied for Social Welfare Scheme, providing of facilities to displaced sports persons and youth, starting of registration process for those migrants who have not been registered till date due to certain reasons, establishing of print out centre for epic cards and issuance of the same to migrants on priority and release of honorarium of displaced Anganwadi workers and helpers which has not been paid since 2018.
The Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner assured the delegation that their demands will be redressed.
The other members of the delegation were R C Mahajan, Sunil Kumar Bhat, and Susheel Chopra.
