RAJOURI, Aug 31: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli along with Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma today laid foundation stone of Brevi to Kotekabu road in Kalakote constituency in Rajouri district.
The road taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 2.81 crore under PMGSY was a long pending demand of locals and is expected to benefit thousands of daily commuters who faced lot of inconvenience in daily commuting.
The Minister directed the executing agency to ensure timely completion of the road project so that masses are facilitated. They also asked them to ensure judicious use of funds.
Later, Kohli and Jugal addressed a public meeting at village Treru in Panchayat Ghar Kalakote and highlighted the achievements of the present dispensation.
Kohli said that the Government is committed to provide proper road connectivity across the State. He said in this connection, the concerned departments have already been instructed to conduct survey of their respective areas and prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and submit the same to the concerned quarter for accord of necessary approval. He said Centre is providing liberal funding for the purpose but the need is to identify the projects and work with utmost dedication and zeal.
Jugal said that the Centre has launched several flagship programmes to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people of the State especially living in far-off and hilly areas. He appealed the people to come forward and avail benefits of these schemes.
