JAMMU, Sept 17: Pankaj Kohli a social activist and National Conference (NC) leader today held a sit in against pathetic condition of health institutions and urged the Government to take necessary steps to improve the working in the hospitals across the Jammu region including GMC Jammu to fight the dreaded COVID Pandemic which has taken a heavy toll.
Holding placards, Kohli appealed the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to visit GMC Jammu and other hospitals in the region to take the stock of the situation. He also accused the administration for its failure in improving the facilities in quarantine centers, isolation wards and COVID Hospitals in Jammu and said the condition of COVID patients admitted in different hospitals is pathetic.
Demanding immediate intervention of the Government he urged it to ensure adequate supply of Oxygen cylinders so that no patient faces problem and gets proper treatment in the hospitals. He demanded that the Government should consider the opening of private hospitals for testing and treatment of patients and also cut down the cost of testing to Rs 1000 instead of Rs 2500.
He stressed that the confidence building measures are needed on war footing to over come the panic situation.
