DODA, July 13: Residents of Koti area held protest here against the Jal Shakti Department for failing to provide drinking water.
Amid slogans against the Jal Shakti Department, the aggrieved residents said they are not getting drinking water regularly causing huge problems to them.
Puran Chand, a resident of Koti, told that they are not being provided drinking water till today and the women in the area bear most of the brunt as they have to get water for their daily use from distant places.
He added that they have brought the matter to the concerned department but no attention is being paid towards their grievance which forced us to come on road.
“The women have to walk miles to fetch drinking water as the taps are dry for many years and the department is not taking any measures to resolve the problem”, he added.
He said that officers of the department visited their area several times and made false promises of providing drinking water.
With warning to intensify their protest, the protestors demanded regular supply of drinking water in their area.
