DODA, Nov 3: The Commissioner Secretary PHE/I&FC Department Dr Pawan Kotwal inspected the functioning of Doda – Dessa Gravity main and took a detailed review of the scheme.
During the review meeting, the Commissioner Secretary was apprised by the Executive Engineer PHE Division Doda that the scheme was put in operation in the month of August and since then the scheme is functioning properly without any interruption except during the flood of September which too was restored within 3 to 4 days.
The Commissioner Secretary personally inspected all the components of Filtration Plant of 15000 GPH at Beoli as well as 30000 GPH at Machan and directed the concerned Executive Engineer to install liquid Alum Pump System for effective working of these plants. The Executive Engineer was also directed to do some tile work in filtration plant to maintain proper hygiene and sanitation in the plant.
Dr. Kotwal expressed his concern over the slow pace of regularization of illegal connections and resorted on minimum formalities to have maximum coverage, so that the revenue can be generated to meet the running and maintenance cost of such a prestigious scheme.
The Commissioner Secretary was accompanied by the Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Doda A.K. Pradhan, Executive Engineer P.H.E. Division Doda A.W. Zargar, Assistant Commissioner Development Doda Dhananter Singh, Chief Planning Officer Doda Yoginder Singh Katoch, Tehsildar Doda Tanveer Ahmed Tanveer, Assistant Director Planning Doda Ranjeet Chandail, Executive Engineer I&FC Division Bhaderwah R.C. Thapa & Assistant Executive Engineer P.H.E. Sub Division Doda West Sandeep Gupta.
