DODA, June 19: DDC Chairman Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal here today participated in the Shardhanjali Samaroh at Chapnari and paid rich floral tribute to the victims of Chapnari massacre.
It is pertinent to mention here that in Chapnari area of district Doda, 26 Baratis from Hindu community were killed by terrorists on June 19, 1998.
The tribute paying ceremony saw the presence of DDC Vice Chairperson Sangeeta Rani along with prominent persons of the area and their participation underscored the collective grief and solidarity of the community in remembering the innocent killings.
Also present at the event were Puri Singh Rana and Rashpal Singh who emphasized on the widespread support and unity within the community.
The gathering served as a poignant reminder of the tragedy and reinforced community’s resolve to stand together against violence and terrorism.
