Kotwal reviews implementation of WSSO

JAMMU, Nov 21: Commissioner-Secretary, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Dr. Pawan Kotwal today reviewed the implementation of Water & Sanitation Support Organization (WSSO) in J&K at an officers meeting here today.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Kotwal impressed upon the officers to go through the salient features of the scheme for its efficient implementation on the ground. He said water is precious and every person has the right to demand drinking water, adding that it is the lifeline activity of the Government to ensure that this basic need of the people is met.
The meeting decided to launch a website for the popularisation of the scheme and notified PHE Department as the nodal agency for its implementation in the State.
The meeting also decided to launch awareness programmes for water conservation and education among masses for the same.
Executive Director, CCDU, Bharti Vaid, Chief Engineer, PHE, Jammu, K. K. Gupta, Chief Engineer, I & FC, Jammu, Varinder Badyal, Joint Director, Information, Jammu, Smita Sethi, and other officers were present in the meeting.
